Joseph Oubelkas (born 10 September 1980, Raamsdonksveer, Netherlands) is a Dutch author and inspirational speaker whose life epitomises resilience. A gifted technologist, he graduated as one of the country’s youngest IT engineers in 2001 and soon founded his own company. While on a business trip to Morocco in December 2004, Oubelkas was wrongfully convicted of drug trafficking and given a ten-year sentence despite a complete lack of evidence. He endured 1,637 days in several Moroccan prisons before gaining release through the Netherlands–Morocco WOTS treaty in 2009.
During his imprisonment, Oubelkas received hundreds of letters from his mother; those letters inspired his bestselling memoir 400 brieven van mijn moeder (2011). He followed it with Gezondheid, Liefde, Vrijheid (2014), reflecting on rebuilding life after captivity. Today, Oubelkas travels internationally as a keynote speaker, sharing lessons on hope, personal leadership and the transformative power of connection.

Darlene Zschech is a renowned Australian worship leader, singer-songwriter, pastor, and author, best known for her pivotal role in the global contemporary worship movement. Born on September 8, 1965, in Brisbane, Australia, she began her musical journey early, performing on television at age ten and later singing jingles for major brands like McDonald’s and Coca-Cola.
In 1993, Zschech penned the iconic worship anthem “Shout to the Lord,” which catapulted her to international recognition. The song has been sung by millions worldwide and featured on over 200 albums in multiple languages. She served as the worship pastor at Hillsong Church in Sydney from 1996 to 2007, during which she produced over 20 albums and wrote more than 80 worship songs. Under her leadership, Hillsong’s music ministry gained global prominence, with albums like “People Just Like Us” (1994) achieving gold and platinum status in Australia.
Beyond her musical contributions, Zschech has authored several books, including “Extravagant Worship” and “The Kiss of Heaven.” Since 2011, she and her husband, Mark, have been the senior pastors of Hope Unlimited Church in New South Wales, Australia. Her life and ministry continue to inspire many around the world.
