Tori Kelly is not only an American singer, songwriter, actress and record producer. She is also a certified child of God. People knew her as a famous pop star, but through and through, Tori is a proud Christian. She just shared her wonderful testimony with the public. 

When Tori was just 12-years-old, she experienced success by signing with a record label. Something happened that she never expected, after signing her career started to slow down. Record companies didn’t believe in her the same way they once did. Every executive that she talked to would tell her that she is too reserved, too shy, and too quiet. They wanted her to have an outgoing and bubbly personality. That’s when she started comparing herself to other people. 

She tried to join American Idol, but still she failed. She felt so devastated for what happened. During those times, Tori began to grow closer to God. In her quiet time, she would write all her emotions in her journal and started to write prayers to God. 

When she decided to write songs again and learned to surrender everything to God, that’s when God powerfully moved in her life. Doors of opportunities started to open. She signed to another record label, was invited to different shows, and she was nominated for Grammy Awards. God, indeed, brought so much restoration to Tori. 

The moment she mentioned all her victories, Tori shared this wonderful verse, “But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ.” [Philippians 3:7-8] 

Tori boldly proclaimed that she would choose Jesus over everything. Because after all Jesus is everything.
